I'm a retired Boston lawyer, now living in Provincetown, Massachusetts, at the tip of Cape Cod. This blog is a continuation of one I started writing in 2007. The writing style in my blog's first incarnation was breezy and fun to read, maybe even flippant, but each post contained a thoughtful - and, I hope - provocation message. With the passage of time, I've become more introspective, and my writing reflects that transition. It's a progression that reminds me of the time when as a child learning to swim, I discovered that the pool had a 'deep' end, even though I couldn't see it simply by looking at the water. I still spend time in the pool's shallow end, if only because it's fun to splash water and act silly. But it's in the deep end that you learn to how to stay afloat when you're over your head.
